So over the weekend I had the pleasure of going to both Houston and Phoenix for my nieces' birthday parties! Spoiled little thing she is - but boy is she a good girl. She's 4 now and while the weekend overall was a little stressful (for some reason adults find it hard to act like adults) It was really nice. My niece had a wonderful time! I am hoping that we're as good at the parenting thing as my sis and bro in love! They have two amazing little girls! Alaina is such a talker and the little one was super sweet and happy (7mths) I didn't get much any sleep on the flights from hou to atl and then from atl to phx because Alaina didn't stop talking the whole time! I had no idea a kid could talk that much! But the little one slept the whole time. Only cried at the beginning of the flight when she wanted a bottle (I suspect her ears were popping and the sucking helped that) Little tip for those taking small kids on flights - suckers help when ears are popping, gum for older kids or adults. There was a little family drama but I tried not to let it get to me because it was my first time being home in about 3 years. Next visit I'm going to try and take the hubby we've been married over a year now and he still has not met my family in AZ. Sad we know but we moved here right after we got engaged and once I quit my airline job and had to start paying for tickets getting to AZ for both of us is gonna be tough! Cross country trips are expensive!
Oh well, we'll figure something out.
As for Valentine's Day - we went and saw Kevin Hart. I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed myself. He is hilarious and he better be - he sold out 6 shows in Baltimore! Only thing I didn't like - lots of people kept trying to record and take pictures and they were very clear before the show started that it was not allowed so the ushers/security were walking around with flashlights and shining them on the people who just couldn't resist. And then there were the girls sitting behind us - Talking extra loud so they could hear each other over the laughter! Can't stand when people do that. Anyways, then we had Five Guys (decided to treat ourselves) and a glass of wine. And he presented me with a beautiful framed photo of us on our wedding day. He just put it on my nightstand for me! Super sweet he is :-) We've been trying to figure out which of our photos we want to display and this was a great start.
XOXO
