Being a Housewife

Long story short - I was really unhappy with my job and after much prayer and discussion between K and I we decided I would quit. So I did and the 1st place that called me back I went to and it was insurance sales. I really didn't like that. Trying to convince business owners to allow me to come tell them about a product without telling them before I saw them exactly what it was I was offering didn't seem quite right to me. I've had some interviews but for now, I'm back on the job hunt. I have come up with some things about being a housewife I love.
  1. Making breakfast while K gets ready for work and we eat together.
  2. Being able to get on a schedule allows me to clean and run errands without it cutting into our time together.
  3. Having the time and energy to try new recipes on a regular basis and having dinner ready when or shortly after K gets home from work. He really appreciates it and I enjoy us sitting down for dinner together and talking. Family dinner is amazing!
  4. Not working weekends has allowed us to spend good quality time together
  5. Having time to go to the library which is my version of heaven on earth!
  6. Time to work out :)
Now, there are some downsides to it for me.
  1. That time I kept mentioning - Oh My GOODNESS, I have SO much spare time.
  2. We live in a two bedroom 2 bath apt. It doesn't take forever to clean. In fact, I could probably clean the whole thing top to bottom in under 8 hours.
  3. Daytime TV is only good for me in the morning. I'm not into any of the day-time soaps so I watch a few morning talk shows - I discovered I like Wendy Williams - "How you doin'?" But I'm not a fan of the afternoon line-ups of judge shows, talk shows, and soap operas.
  4. Once the cleaning is done, if I don't have a book to read, or a menu to plan and there's nothing I want to watch on TV, I am just bored.
  5. When its cold out going outside sucks so I spend more time inside. (I'm an AZ girl and haven't quite gotten used to the MD cold!)
Now I have looked into volunteering and I think I have found the place I can put my skill set to good use! And I think it'll give this housewife a bit more purpose! Not that loving and caring for my husband and our household isn't good purpose, I just feel like I should and can be doing more.
