Weekend Roundup!

We didn't do much on Saturday - we had a lazy day and made homemade pizza! This recipe makes enough dough for us to make either 4 personal pizzas or two medium-ish pizzas depending on desired thickness. And start to finish it takes about 40 minutes - including 10 min rest time for the dough. The recipe on the blog below does call to spread garlic on the dough prior to cooking - this is delicious and when I have fresh garlic I do it no matter what toppings I'm using :-) But it is fine without it. I suggest using a pizza baking sheet or stone to allow for the crispiest crust. I also par-bake before adding the toppings.

We're set to get some  FRIGID weather in the next few days so yesterday we wanted to spend some quality time enjoying the above freezing temps (still shocks the arizona girl when I walk outside and 20-30 degrees no longer feels like I'm about to die!) . We decided to go to a couple of open houses for places we're interested in and we went to see a few model homes and I am so glad we did. Talking to two of the agents was VERY informative. We learned about a few programs that are available to first time buyers in certain zip codes in MD as well as a charge for the water and sewage lines that are billed yearly for 23 years when a new home is built. Which only one of the three builder representatives we spoke to mentioned. Some of the programs will GIVE you up to $20K to put towards your downpayment. So when you decide to buy a home whether new build, or resale, do your homework and ask tons of questions! And if you are using an agent - inform them if you go to a builder, even better if you go with them. This way they can still get their commission from the sale. And as we are learning, the words short sale only refer to the price - it can take as long as it needs to take. And right now - it's taking forever!

I ALMOST FORGOT - Yesterday I was in the bathroom and wearing jeans and had my phone in my pocket. I realized it was there before began to pull my pants down and took it out cause I didn't want it to fall out. I placed it on the tp holder... What I didn't realize was it was on the slightest angle - and it fell. The screen on my S3 is so cracked. I actually cut my finger when I picked it up. And of course hubs has no idea where he put the information about the insurance plan so I have to visit the store to get it... So I will essentially be without a phone for a few days until a new phone arrives. Sad times but probably a good thing. I'm too addicted to Pinterest as it is - that darn mobile app has just made it so easy!

Happy Monday!
