So since my last post was written a lot has happened! We are totally settled in to our place. Still furninshing it but we aren't in any rush. We want to make sure all the pieces we bring in we really love and will use. Nothing comes in that doesn't already have a home or a purpose! This will definitely help cut down on the clutter. Which is super important because I have dreams of converting our attached storage shed into a walk-in pantry and that can only happen if we don't NEED that space for storage! May was a wonderful month. We have gotten to know our neighbors. We've moved onto a friendly block! And my husband's mother and grandmother came to spend a week with us! They came on a wednesday evening and stayed till Monday. We haven't seen them in over a year and it was their first visit here. Husband took Thursday and Friday off and on Thursday he took them into Baltimore. On Friday we went into DC for Hill Country BBQ and a walk around. Then on Saturday we took them on a bus tour of DC and the monuments. We took them to our favorite restaurants, shopping, dropped them off at a casino - Mom won $500! And took them to church. And the sermon was brought to us by a guest pastor - Pastor Sterling who is a young man starting a church in the D.C. area. Revolution DC. If you are ever in the area they would be glad to have you! More on them in the next post. Since moving in we have painted two rooms, bought bedside lamps, throw pillows, rugs some wall art and I finally found a yellow shower curtain that almost matched my vision. Husband got his gas/charcoal grill and put that together, and yesterday, a friend spent the day with my husband putting in recessed lighting! There's a few holes to still be patched up but the lights are in, and they even put them on a dimmer! It has been quite a month! May was so great. And I'm looking forward to June to be just as wonderful!
Happy Monday people!
