Weekend Recap!

We had an amazing weekend! The weather was nice. Very Spring like! We didn't do anything special on Friday just hung out at home. Saturday we had brunch at the Casino buffet and did a little window shopping to walk it off! Then we took the train into the city to partake in a film that was being shown as part of Film Fest D.C. We went early to walk around and enjoy the day. The theater was in Chinatown and what else was in Chinatown? A Capitals game which meant LOTS of people! And off the subway was a great live band! I'd add the video clip but it doesn't sound so good... We walked around a little more and decided to stop by Red Velvet Cupcakery. We've heard a lot of good things about it but we weren't really impressed. They were very moist but lacking in flavor... And what goes with Cupcakes? Ice Cream! A few blocks away we headed to Haagan Daas! Delicious milkshakes. Almost as good as the ones from Hershey! We did some window shopping, walked around Chinatown and checked out some more street performers. And then we headed to the German Center where we saw a Swedish film called "The Hypnotist". It was pretty good! I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Would have been 5 but I figured out who the killer about halfway through the film. Going to see a few more this week if all goes well!

And then came Sunday! After brunch (we woke up late) we went to D.C. again to watch the Braves play the Nationals! My first MLB game. And The Braves won! It was much more fun than I was expecting and the hot dog was much less tasty than I expected... But I had a great time! Did you know they actually sing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" at the games? I had no idea! And they did this thing called race of the presidents and they celebrated the Mascots birthday! And the game wasn't boring like it is when watching it on tv. Almost felt bad for the Nationals though - they didn't score once. It was a great weekend! Here's a few pictures!
Hubs and me!
Amazing seats! Next time we take a glove! At least 3 balls headed to close for comfort!
Presidential Race!
Angry birds? Nope its the celebrating Mascots!
Statue in front of Stadium!

Such a good time! Only downside to taking the train is that we do a ton of walking! But I suppose that's also part of the upside. And we don't have to spend time in traffic wasting gas! If the weather is nice next weekend we're going to see the monuments!
Life is GOOD!
