Weekend Roundup

Sometime on Friday our AC stopped working :-( (as we speak the indoor temp is 78! )

By the time I realized that it was not working it was too late for maintenance to come out so we called the office on Sat morning where they assured us that someone would come by. We had stuff to do so we did it (husband went to Preakness - another post about that to come). And wouldn't you know it, no one came by. So on Sunday we left a message and maintenance called back to tell us that they don't do AC calls on Sundays ( or after bus hours) unless the temp is above 80 - the high yesterday was 78... So they're working on it now - they have no idea why it doesn't work and I get the feeling they really don't want to call someone from outside the company to take care of it. ANYWAYS - that was most of my weekend - We've had our doors and windows open pretty much since Fri night attempting to keep it cool - Thank God for cool spring nights! Unfortunately, I'm basically allergic to the outdoors so this has been tough on my sinuses! Looking forward to it being fixed! 

Good news!

Tomorrow I start my job. As a caretaker/nanny for a 6 month old boy. As my first baby, it doesn't pay much but the experience I gain will enable me to make much more in the future! I am super excited and a little nervous. I've only had older kids. Aside from the occasions I've flown to Houston to take care of my sisters babies when they were sick or day care was closed for weather related reasons (perks of working for an airline) so that sister would not have to take time off work. But day in and out with a baby? This will be new and I'm super excited! Husband is happy about it because it means more money coming in and I can get some experience doing what I'd like to do. I'm not sure if he realizes that it means that I'll actually not be home during the day...I assume he knows it but I don't know if he realizes that it also means things around here will change a little bit... SO we'll see in a few weeks if he's still excited about me working outside the home!
