New Job

I started a job last week. As a nanny/caregiver to a 4 month old boy named Miles. He is the most adorable baby! He wakes up with a big toothless grin. He smiles at me as he poops and farts on my leg (diapered of course!) and he laughs at just about everything. He enjoys looking at the opening song of The Lorax and the sights and sounds of Pocahontas. He has great parents who love him very much and work very hard to give him the best in life. And I have to be honest, this is a pretty cushy job. With the exception of the poopy diapers that is! And it has made me realize how much when we have our little one I want to be able to stay at home. The father comes home after working 12hr overnight shifts and he's exhausted, He spends like 10 min (if that) with baby and then he's off to bed. Mom gets home around 4 and by then dad is getting ready to go to work. He does get 3 days off (which means I only work 4 days!) But you can tell he feels like he's missing out. The look on his face when he came home late on Wed and Miles was napping. I felt so bad. Then when he woke up he was taking his afternoon nap so I just said feel free to wake him up. And while he was good for about an hour, he was super fussy after dad when to work. But such is life sometimes right? So that's what I've been up to this week. Getting to know Miles and his schedule. In the next few weeks they're 11 year old daughter is joining them for the summer. I just found that part out so I need to figure out how to decide how much extra to charge for an extra kid. I mean she's 11 so she doesn't need the care that the baby does, but she'll want to spend way more time outside the house doing things and going places. So we'll see. Now to enjoy our Memorial day weekend! No beach - its a bit chilly on the East Coast! We are currently watching Arrested Development on Netflix. Starting with Season One - Episode 1...
I haven't decided if I like it yet...
