Home Projects!

The week of closing we found out that our closing costs would be less than we had anticipated. Which means cash to spare! But we don't want to go crazy. After all, we want to do a full bathroom renovation in the future and we will be paying cash. No financing - if you don't have the cash, you CAN NOT afford it! (in our world anyways)  And we have very different ideas of what to do. He wants to make the main bath smaller and add an en-suite to the master. I want to take less space from the master and simply enlarge the main bath slightly. Something like the pic below. And we'll add a shower to the half bath downstairs. So we'll still get our 2 full bathrooms and keep our spacious master. Time and money, will tell what we'll be able to do. And a good contractor will be able to tell us how much space a full bath will really take away from the spacious master. Who knows? It might not be much at all.
My choice!
But in the meantime, we'll be doing just a little painting. And hopefully my pinterest project goes well! Here are my ideas. Since the white and gray tiles are going to stay (for now), that hideous purple paint has got to go! And there aren't a ton of colors that will work with those, so I'm going to go with a gray. And the accent colors will either be yellow, or red. Here are my Pinspirations

And there's this one.

And I haven't seen many red and gray bathrooms but I did find this one that I kind of like!
I don't have the site - if you do, let me know!
I just worry that the dark gray will be a bit much considering the gray tiles are a lighter gray. I might start with the light color, and see how I like it. After all, it's just paint, if I don't like it, I can change it!

And the vanity is old and ugly with no counter space at all. I'm hoping to find an inexpensive one that will work until we do the remodel. Because we don't need much counter space but we do need some! And currently this is what we have

Tiny Tiny tiny!
So I'm going to try this tutorial. Husband is onboard since he doesn't like the cabinet either. And he figures if it doesn't work, or look good, who cares - we're planning to replace it anyways. As long as it doesn't cost much for me to do! Painting the bathroom is something I'm hoping to get done this week before we move in. Ideally we'd get all the painting done before we move in and we're about two weeks away from that so we'll see. We were hoping to not paint the living room but when the previous owners took down their tv and paintings and a few decor items, they didn't fill the holes so... we get to do that! And since that means painting. On the plus side to all of this, I get to spend some time at one of my favorite places - Home Depot!
Now it's time to pack pack pack! Moving day is coming!
