So being from AZ I really never understood the whole "heatwave" thing. It was always hot in the summer and we ALWAYS drank tons of water and stayed in from noon till 3 which was normally the hottest part of the day. Here, people seem to be completely unprepared. You would think since heat and humidity go hand in hand here folks would be a bit more prepared. Oh well. I'm drinking my water! My workouts have been moved indoors. No jogging unless I get it in before 8am. And the news people keep saying to set the thermostat to 78 - I'm not sure they realize how warm 78 is when there is no breeze and sun spilling through the blinds. Last month would have been the perfect time to find some blackout blinds! And wouldn't you know it - my sister picks the hottest weekend so far to come visit! There will be no walking around the monuments! We will go to a couple of museums and walk around but the monument tour will have to wait till her next visit. I can't even remember the last time I saw her! I'm so excited! If we weren't watching our sugar intake, I'd bake some brownies or cookies or take her to cold stone :-) Any suggestions on what else to do on an extraordinarily warm/humid weekend are greatly appreciated!
