Today is one of those days where I really miss my family and friends. However I love my husband and can't imagine being anywhere but wherever he is. And I have made some new friends but it really isn't the same. And for the most part, I am very happy here in the DMV. But not working and not having really good friends to spend time with is difficult.
Last weekend my family got together in St. Thomas for a cousins wedding. Seeing the pictures it was beautiful. I must say there are some major perks to being able to stay at home. But there are also some major downsides to it. For example - when you're a one-income household week-long vacations to St. Thomas don't happen. Especially when you're planning an anniversary trip! Being married on NYE (or any major holiday) is awesome! But it comes with a tiny downside - while there will be a fireworks show and party no matter where we go to celebrate, there will also be extra charges due to the holiday. We're going to an all inclusive. That much we know for sure, what we haven't figured out yet is where? Sunshine and warmth are a must and while we'd love to stat in the US there are only a couple of places that have a good chance of being warm at that time but I really want to wake up to the ocean each morning. And lay on the beach with hubby! And ride jet skis and maybe (if we can teach hubby to swim well enough so he's comfortable) go snorkeling or scuba diving! And depending on where we are, explore the area on atvs or bikes! After watching Couples Retreat again yesterday I almost want to vacation with other couples but since it's our anniversary I think we'll have this be just the two of us. Probably won't take another big anniversary trip until we reach 5 years and then it'll depend on where we are with growing our family... Time will tell!
XOXO
