As a trilogy I have enjoyed these books. I will say this one last time - the writing isn't the greatest. She overuses some words and phrases and then throws in a few vocabulary words! That said - I recently finished book 3 and I have re-read the 2nd half of it already! James' writing may not have improved but the story certainly did! She added a couple of short stories at the end giving us much more insight into Christian's world as a child and giving his pov of first meeting Ana. She did an excellent job of adding twists and turns and ups and downs. And I'll be honest - on the sexual side, there were a few scenes that I won't re read again. I'll just skip past them. Not because I'm a prude (I actually enjoy some erotica) but they got a bit redundant. These books I will most likely read again in the future. And when we move into a place with room for more books (my dream home has a library with two two oversized chairs like this!,) I will purchase the physical set. I'm more curious than ever as to how they are going to make this into a movie. And I'm hoping they bring some talented writers in for the screenplay! So for those of you on the fence about the book I say this - check out the first one from your local library - this way if you don't like it you haven't wasted your money! And like it or not you should head over to good reads leave a review and check out reviews of this trilogy and hundreds of other books!
Happy Monday folks!
