Virgin Diaries

So I admit I am addicted to some reality tv specials. And I must say, this is one of my favorites. It doesn't only show people who are waiting for religious reasons which makes it easier to appeal to non-religious people. For example, one of the girls on Last Nights show was 29 and waiting for the right person. Watching her girlfriends give it up to guys who after the fact weren't into them anymore. A lot of young women do this (myself included) and the emotional and psychological toll that it takes is difficult to handle at 25 or 29 let alone 16 or 18. However this girls mom is a self professed "slut" so that probably had something to do with her choice to wait...

The show also introduced us to Skippy the 33 y/o virgin. Skippy lives in his moms basement and collects his belly button lint in a jar he keeps in his bathroom and he makes t-shirts with cute little sayings on them - ex. 30+ yr old single mormon: proof dinosaurs exist. He's so awkward, he seems like a teenage boy. He could be the argument that boys never really grow up, they just get older. At one point he BEGGED his date for a kiss. If I could tell him anything I'd tell him to relax. Aside from the belly lint stuff, he seemed like a nice guy. He lacks confidence though and that coupled with his desperation to get married so he can have sex (cause it kinda seems like that) is a serious turn-off.

There was one more person profiled. A 33y/o woman. She is beautiful! I can imagine over the years she's had plenty of men who tried but she was waiting on the one God sent to her. They introduced us to her boyfriend of 3 years. He's a widower with two children (though they didn't mention the children on the episode that I learned this morning on The View) She feels strongly that this is the man she's meant to be with and they've talked extensively about getting married. It was sweet watching their relationship. After seeing them on the view this morning their relationship seemed even more genuine and sweet.

And they followed up with the couple from the last episode-the kiss seen around the world. They are happy and continuing to practice their kissing :-)

Well that's it for my Reality TV fix! So much better than watching the Kardashians. :-)
