Weekend Roundup!

Another great weekend! Must have something to do with this gorgeous weather we're having here on the East Coast! I had friday off and Hubs came home early from work! Gotta love that right? Best way to begin a weekend! Friday we did dinner and a movie! I really wanted to go back to Bobby's Burger Palace and have a burger and a shake. But I had mentioned to Hubby that I was going to cut out the sweets until the cruise in August. So we ended up at Chili's instead. If I was going to have a delicious burger, I wanted that shake to go with it!!! Thankfully Chili's has a few delicious and low calorie options. And since we were heading to a movie our server was great in bringing our check and Chili's has these little table top tablet like things that will allow you to reorder bar beverages, order dessert and pay your bill at the table. And since Friday nights are fairly busy it sometimes takes the server a while to get the check to you and back. This was so convenient - we didn't have to wait and made it to the theater in time get decent seats at what was of course a FULL theater! So full in fact that a theater employee came in and asked everyone to fill in the empty seats so that people looking could easily see what was available. This was my first movie in a long time with no popcorn and no milkshake! (This particular theater happens to have a Hagen Dazs shop - so Tempting!) Good thing I enjoyed the movie! Otherwise the temptation to enjoy a shake might have won out! On Saturday we lounged around and went to an Art Fest in Columbia. It was pretty nice. We didn't buy anything but we did see some interesting art. Mannequin art! According to the people at the festival, these will be worn by models at some point for a live exhibit!

These were made from reclaimed wood. The artist even has notes on the pieces letting you know that if gophers get to the pieces he'll fix them for you! Very talented dude! There were a lot of tables with jewlery and paintings and pictures and clothes. One dress was covered in cats! I wish I had gotten a picture of that. So we left empty handed but it was a nice way to spend an afternoon! 

And then on Sunday after our workouts we had a groupon for two rounds of mini-golf and 24 tokens for the batting cages! We have a little bet going - whomever gets the highest combined score gets to choose one additional pay activity on our cruise! He's currently ahead as he kicked my butt in mini-golf! On one hole it took me 7 SEVEN tries to get the darn ball in the hole!! So frustrating. However, I am pretty good at the batting cages so we'll see. We only did some practice rounds at the batting cages. We realized pretty quickly that if we were going to be competitive, we need to go home and get gloves! (yes get gloves!! He had blisters after two rounds and my hands are still sore!) So we'll be going back to finish part two of our competition next weekend! Initially I thought I'd do a spa treatment onboard if I won. But the reviews pretty much say not to waste the money because it's overpriced and not that great of an experience anyways. So after checking out the NCL website and the reviews, I've decided that if I win, we'll go to the specialty Italian restaurant onboard!

And that was our weekend! All in all a pretty good one. Hubs is playing Wiffle ball next weekend with his new Poker buddies. I wasn't really sure what Wiffle ball was. Hubs explained it to me and YouTube showed it to me (whatever did we do before you tube came along to show us how stuff is done???)
