Merry Christmas!

(gonna be a long one - sorry bout that!)
I LOVE Christmas! Mostly because people are happy between Christmas and New Year's Day. The holiday spirit is truly infectious, even for those who don't celebrate anything this time of year other than that it's Winter. We went to the Gaylord at National Harbor and saw the Shrek the Halls ICE display! It was awesome! They bring in 40 Chinese ice sculptors and what they can do with ice is incredible! I only got a few shots on my camera but here they are - There are a few rules - no touching, licking or sitting on the ice! They must have said that 20 times before letting us into the icy area!
They give you these wonderful parkas to put over your clothes. I also suggest having a scarf, hat and gloves! (Oh and thick socks and boots - but not with a heel or you can't go down the ice slide!)

Entering Ogre territory!

SHREK!

DONKEY!

Fiona and the triplets!

I must say - at this point I was FREEZING and since Hubby's camera takes better pictures anyways, I let him take over the photo taking! But as you can see the things they can do with the ice is AMAZING! I highly recommend going if an event like this is in your city -check groupon or living social for a good deal and it is COLD so please don't wear shorts (yep saw a few folks in shorts)

After the fun with the ICE, we headed over to the National Harbor walking area. Obviously all the shops and most of the restaurant were closed but since we were there and hubby hadn't been before we checked out the waterfront. National Harbor! Very touristy even on Christmas day! We had a snack at Fiorella Pizzeria. I say snack because our one pizza was $18 and it was only enough for a snack. But it was tasty and here's a pic (sorry we had already started!)

It was delicious but pricey - totally expected when at a hot tourist spot. Good thing we had a delicious dinner ahead of us! Our friend Deb made a Christmas Goose! Never had goose before and it was tasty. She's an amazing cook and gracious hostess! Incredible company and food makes for an amazing Holiday meal. Before bed, we gave our gifts to Jesus. Mine for this year is to learn one scripture a week, each week. And hubby is turning our finances over to God. We didn't do the birthday cake this year so maybe next year...
Anyways, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday! We are so incredibly blessed to have such wonderful family and friends that it didn't matter where we spent the day, we were surrounded by love! And I hope you were as well!
