Things Happen

So my place in Nashville is about to be empty yet again. Our tenants called and said the closing of their home was cancelled due to the buyers loan not being approved so they are moving back into their house. And because I'm a super softie (gotten work on that especially where business is concerned) they can get out of their lease with just a 30 day notice with no penalties. Next tenant lease - they can leave with 30 day notice and a penalty equal to two months rent (or something to that effect). I remember my lease at my place in Murfreesboro - if I left for any reason other than death, I was responsible for the remainder of the lease amount. So if ya'll know anyone in the Nashville area in need of a great place to stay just west of Nashville in a great area near parks, schools, and shopping let me know!

On to the holidays! Our Anniversary is coming up and we still haven't decided what we'd like to do. I'm going for a nice dinner and then possibly head to the harbor for fireworks! That's one good thing about NYE being an anniversary or birthday! (That and the 4th of July!) There's always something to do if you don't want to plan something! As for Christmas, we considered making reservations but I think we'll do an intimate dinner here and start the ann celebration early! Or go have dinner at a friends house... We have seriously scaled back our gifting budget. Thankfully we don't have many people we want to give gifts to. I'll mail out our cards this week and the only kids we're sending gifts to are my my sisters' girls and the younger one is just 18mths so she generally gets the box the older ones gift comes in. We'll add some pretty paper and bubble wrap for her. And if you think I'm joking I'm not. My sister said she doesn't need any new clothes (the joy of having a mother and grandmother who can't resist buying kids clothes) and she isn't yet interested in any toys for more than a few minutes but she'll spend hours playing with a box and the wrapping paper! When she gets older she'll get real gifts! Found the cutest PJ's for Alaina (hoping they have her size tomorrow) and also sending her a book. I love to read so I think books are the perfect gift for everyone! Even people that don't like to read, find something they're interested in and they're more likely to read it. As for gifts for us, I haven't decided what I want him to get for me and he hasn't said what he'd like. Probably because we lowered the limit this year so he has to go back to the drawing board. Last year he wanted a $600 camera - Didn't happen but it made his list anyways :-) And the new budget includes Christmas and Anniversary gifts. (Yes I know Christmas is about more than gifts but we still like to give them) I'm also planning to do 12 Days of Christmas for him. Now I'll just have to make sure the gifts I get will keep me in my budget... That part will be tough because originally it wasn't going to be a problem. But they are meant to be simple small gifts so I think I can manage.
Special treat for the Holiday - even though I'm not a Santa fan, I love most of the Christmas movies and this one may be my favorite! I'm considering adding it to my list - saw it on Amazon dvd for $10. I remember watching this as a little girl we had it on VHS - no clue where it is now and it wouldn't much matter as I don't have a vhs player anyways! Have you seen this one? Santa and The Three Bears!
XO
