NCL Day 2

Before going to bed each night we filled out the room service card to have a continental breakfast delivered to us. This serves two very important purposes. The first is to ensure that we don't sleep the day away! The second, to ensure we eat something in case we're dragging our feet and don't make it to either the buffet or the restaurant in time for breakfast! I did wake up at one point and noticed the sun was rising - it was breathtaking. And if I hadn't been half sleep, I would have a picture for you! I then went back to bed as we had not yet docked. A couple of hours later room service arrived and I must tell you, there is nothing like enjoying some OJ/hot chocolate/coffee (insert your fav morning beverage!) and a cinnamon roll while checking out the water! Such a peaceful way to wake up! We called for an iron and spent the next hour ironing and unpacking. Then we ran into the in-laws and joined them for a real breakfast at the buffet. We also ran into a cousin and she and her husband were taking their boys to the beach. They invited us to join them - we told them we would need to go to the room and grab our beach gear - they said they'd meet us at the Taxi stand. So we got ready and off we went!
The side of the Norwegian Sky! Lovely ship. Hawaiian themed from it's early days cruising Hawaii!
Freeport was our first stop and let me tell you - it was HOT HOT HOT and humid! My hair began curling up as soon as I stepped into the sunshine. The cousin we were meeting had neglected to tell us that if we weren't at the Taxi stand at 11am (approx 10 min after seeing her) they were leaving without us (the left the other cousins as well after saying they'd wait... Oh well) We looked around the shops, bought me a watch since we discovered mine had a dead battery that morning and we headed back to the ship. We laid around the pool, got some sun and enjoyed a couple of daiquiris! Then we stumbled upon the family enjoying the a/c in the lounge. We grabbed some lunch and joined them. These ladies can drink! By the time we saw them they had 3 empty wine bottles on the table and the server was bringing 2 more. Their husbands were just chilling out with them. They live all across the country and try to get together a couple of times a year at least. The stories they had to tell! And the advice they had to give! I still think the best advice they gave was to travel while we're young. And to see as much of the world as we can. I really can't say how much it means to me to have married into this family. When I first met them, it was at a funeral. Not a happy occasion by any means and they instantly made me feel so welcome. It is such a blessing to marry into a family like this! I'm such a sap that thinking about it brings tears to my eyes because I know that everyone doesn't get this. Everyone doesn't get welcomed into their spouses family with open arms. I'm blessed beyond measure and I know it! *back to vacay*
Sitting around with the elders as hubby refers to them! Soaking up the knowledge. Over 150 years of marriage at that table!
We left lunch and went to the arcade with some cousins. Checked out some of the bands until it was time to get ready for dinner. After dinner we went to hear a band that was playing Motown music and did some dancing with the cousins!
Dancing to Motown's greatest hits!
It was so much fun! This cruise was the most dancing we've done ever!! It was great.
Next up - Nassau!
