Weekend Roundup!

A wonderful weather weekend! So nice in fact, that I took the time to straighten my hair. Friday was a quiet day. I am planning my family reunion for next summer so I've been using my days off to gather as much information as possible. In the next week or so I'll be sending out the information for the final vote on place and date. When Hubs got home I made a quick and easy dinner of Kielbasa and Cabbage and we watched some movies before heading to bed. Ghost Shark was up first. Starring Mackenzie Rosman (Ruthie from Seventh Heaven). It wasn't as bad as Sharnado but close. After that we watched Looper (two thumbs up) and then Terminator 2. And it was beyond bedtime at this point. We slept in and had a wonderful breakfast. And then we watched Zero Dark Thirty. If you haven't seen it, it's pretty good (*Spoiler Alert - they get UBL) And then we went to a friends place for a "Bourbon tasting" Each of the guys brought either their favorite Bourbon on just one they wanted to try. Our hostess and her MIL made some yummy appetizers. Jalapeno dip and prosciutto wrapped scallops. And then they put some ribs and sliders on the grill. Husband enjoyed trying the different bourbons, I had a lovely glass of white wine. It was a great time. After that we headed to a friend's place for a birthday celebration. More food, more great company! The birthday girl is vegan so there were lots of new things to us to try. And since many of her friends are not vegan there was plenty of food for everyone. Vegan rice krispy treats and cake and as she also loves oreo cookies - an assortment of oreos. Did you know they make birthday cake oreos? I didn't care for them but I do love the Golden ones. And she put on "Pitch Perfect" and a few of us watched a little bit. Husband actually found some of it funny. I of course loved it. Poor Husband though - once we got home, all the bourbon and hard cider gave him quite the tummy ache. He normally doesn't drink Bourbon. But he had a great day and a lovely DD so it's all good.

Sunday we relaxed at home. Did a little dancing, watched "Life of Pi" (2 thumbs up) and then some football. Spent some time on ESPN.com getting ready for our FFL draft tomorrow evening. Last year I came in 1st in my division and 2nd over all! Looking forward to this season. With any luck I'll come in first! No money on the line here, just bragging rights. And now, looking forward to another wonderful week!
