Weekend Roundup

It was a good weekend! On Thursday we went to see Art Sherrod Jr and his jazz band at the Maryland Hall for Creative Arts! It was really good! The Hall has a variety of classes and events year round. Sherrod had a 15 year old perform a couple of songs. She started out playing piano and singing Adele - Someone Like You, and then she did a number from the 60's (I don't know the song). She did great on the 2nd song and ok on the first. Adele is just really tough to sing but she did pretty well. She nailed the chorus! Very powerful voice, excellent tone. I wouldn't be surprised to see her in a couple of years on The Voice or even American Idol - if those shows are still on... The band was great! We had a really nice time. It was a nice date night event. And it was free (always a plus!) Then we had dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings and then it was off to bed! Saturday night was Girls Night Out! Well for me it was :-) Husband did poker night! It was a surprise poker birthday party for a friend of ours. And since all the guys were getting together, the ladies decided to hang out. Two of the girls had never hung out with us without the guys! It was so much fun. The wife of the birthday boy is having their first baby in a few weeks so this was also her last girls outing before baby girl gets here. We went to Romano's Macaroni Grill and had a delicious leisurely meal! Deb (wife) had been planning the surprise party for months and pulled it off so well! He was super surprised and had a great time! And husband had fun at the party! He even texted to tell me he was coming home and then texted another hour later saying he was really coming home because they got to talking again... Usually it's us girls doing that to them! All of us were exhausted and probably in bed by 10pm. LOL  And sunday was a lovely lazy day! And today I took the kids for a mall walk. Gotta love these rainy rainy days! Hopefully the rain will go away soon and we can get back to going outside! We didn't go on our walk today because of stormy weather :-( These are the days I wish we had a treadmill! Oh well, such is life.
This was a great start to the week! I am looking forward to the rest of it! BBQ on Thursday with friends and on Saturday a couple from our pre-marital class celebrate making it through their sons 1st year!
