Labor Day Weekend Roundup

Fall is almost officially here! I have fallen in love with fall again. It really is beautiful out here! If the only two seasons we had were fall and summer I think I'd be ok with that! But that's because I'm not a fan of cold weather. This weekend we didn't do much. It was mostly a Labor free weekend. With the exception of cleaning out the fridge and doing way too many dishes!! I feel like the bottom shelf of the fridge is where leftovers go to die! I've been scouring Pinterest for a way to make better use of the space. It's not one of the fancy ones where you can move shelves around. I would LOVE one of those! I found a couple that I might try... details later!
Aside from that, we really just enjoyed spending some time together at the house! We watched "Taken 2", "Looper" and shark movies on the Syfy channel. We tried two new restaurants. One was great - Mary and Martha's a casual eatery. It was pretty good. We also tried a new Japanese seafood buffet. And while I was fine after eating there, hubby said never again. Then again, I didn't eat any of the sushi or seafood... and my only real complaint was that nothing was hot. It wasn't cold but everything was just kind of lukewarm. Best part of the meal for me was the salad bar. I love a good fresh salad and theirs was fresh. But it was pretty expensive at $40 for two. And without going into too much detail, hubby was taking pepto like it was candy. So we won't be back. And then we had homemade chipotle for dinner yesterday! I love Chipotle but I hate waiting in the lines and it is a bit expensive. For the price of two meals there, I can make 4 or 5 meals at home. And while it isn't exactly the same, it is pretty darn close! So it was a pretty simple weekend. Next weekend one of our dearest friends and his wife are coming to town! I'm very much looking forward to seeing them. Now it's time to get back to work! I hope you all have a fantastic week!

  1. Easy going weekends are fun sometimes! Why are there always lines at chipotle?!?!? I will never know...their food is good though!

  2. LOL ALWAYS lines!! They opened one near us and with the exception of it being closed, I always see a line. So glad I can just make it at home.
