Day 10

I'm back! Had a stressful couple of days! Am I glad to have the opportunity to pray with my husband about the things that have been concerning me. I feel 100x better and I know that God is listening! So for my 10th post it's about praying about the JOB!
Praying about and at work.
Work can be stressful. Even for those people who have jobs you truly love, there can be days where the job or the people can really get to you. Like every other aspect of life there are good days and there are bad days! It's important to remember to pray for and about your job. Perhaps its difficulty with a coworker or supervisor. Perhaps there's an important meeting or presentation. For teachers, pray for your individual students. Call them by name, touch their desks and pray for them. You can do the same for the people on the job with you. Touch their workstation or desk, the door to their office. Pray that they have peace, patience. That they come to work/school with the mindset to get it done for the day. If there is an issue you are struggling with take it to God in prayer. And then leave it with Him. Don't pray about it and then continue to worry about it. Pray about it until you feel peace about it. But don't let it consume you God tells us to give Him our burdens and leave them there! I know its easier said than done but it can be done.
Some people work from home or at home as housewives and stay at home moms and dads! Also known as the household managers! Running a household can be stressful. Even more so when it's not just the grown ups to be taken care of. Real Housewives of _____ Is not the reality for most people. Everyone doesn't have nannies and maids to take care of the house. So pray about running your household. I know many SAHP (parents) who run the house and the budget. STRESSFUL! Pray over your finances. Pray over the spirit of laziness that doesn't feel like cleaning up. And when your children need or want your attention. Pray that you are able to accept that your house does NOT have to look photo shoot ready at all times! I saw a sign on Pinterest that said "Please excuse the mess, the children are making memories". Dishes (unfortunately) will be there after you play with the kids, dinner may be a few minutes late but the world will not stop turning. People have recently jumped on the YOLO bandwagon like its the first time they've heard it. (you only live once) And it's true. You only live once. SO enjoy this life as much as you can. If you are currently not in a situation that you feel is idea, pray about it. But be specific, what don't you like about it? In what ways would a change possibly make it better? Pray about it. We don't always get advance notice of what God has planned for us but I don't believe he plans for us to be miserable people floating through life on a black cloud! SO keep praying about it. Be specific, for example.
Instead of
"Lord I don't like my job, I'd like another one"
Try This:
"Lord, my job is stressful because of _____. Can you show me a way to make _____ better or more tolerable?
Instead of
"Lord I need more time in the day, 24 hours just isn't enough"
"Lord, I'm having trouble managing my time and I don't feel there's enough hours in the day. Can you show me where I can find the time to get everything done and have it done well?
When people are stressing you out try something like this -
Lord, my boss isn't listening to my ideas, can you show me a way to present them to him/her in a way that will appeal to them?"

"Lord my children have lots their minds. please give me the patience to remember they are still learning how to behave and I need to model for them what I want to see from them"

OK That's all I have for today. I'm beginning to feel like I'm rambling so I'm going to sign off and get to my workout!

  1. Helpful and meaningful prayers that very much apply to our lives. I often feel I'm asking too much of God, but then again I won't accomplish his will without Him. Praying prayers of Thanksgiving every day keeps me from feeling overwhelmed by things outside of my control as well. Thanks for sharing! -Joanie
