Devotionals
I love devotionals. One reason is sheer laziness. The other is that the Bible is intimidating and studying it can get boring sometimes. (Just being honest here) So devotionals are a great way to get to know your way around the Bible and really absorb it. I really like that many of them give some insight while still allowing you to draw your own conclusions and actually learn. And depending on the type of devotional, will also ask questions to really get you thinking on what you just read! And many of the online devotionals are able to offer additional resources that are available to you online often free of charge. So here are a few online devotional resources.
Proverbs 31 - Contrary to the site name they study more than Proverbs 31! Though it is an amazing chapter and you could easily do a daily devotional for a month or longer on just Proverbs 31!
The Upper Room -I grew up with the paper ones they gave us in church! Now they're online in both English and Spanish.
Marriage Missions - Exactly what it sounds like. Its a website devoted to Christian marriages and marriages to be! This is not specifically a devotional site but I really do like it. There is a wealth of information here.
Pick up a cheap notebook if you don't already have one (or make one) so you can make notes as you go along. And don't be afraid to write in your bibles. There are special pens and even highlighters that can be used on the pages that won't bleed through. There are also study bibles that have space on the sides of each page for note taking. I tend to take lots of notes though so a separate book works best for me. Many libraries allow you to borrow books for between 3 and 4 weeks at a time. My suggestion is to check the books out and decide later if its worth it to you to buy them.
Beth Moore is awesome! (imo) Praying God's Word Day by Day
Stormie Omartian is another author I love - A Book of Prayer
and
Priscilla Shirer is another author I adore! The Resolution for Women
This was written in partnership with the film Courageous and its in my collection. If you haven't heard of these women they are amazing! Here's a little clip of Mrs. Shirer on the 5 P's of Bible Study!
I hope this was helpful!
