My marriage is my biggest accomplishment. Marriage is so wonderful. It's also work. And even though I knew it going in, I still had this naive idea that marriage was a 50/50 partnership. I was wrong! For a marriage to work both people must put in 100% and sometimes more. There are compromises that I never though I'd have to make. Thankfully we made the decision prior to getting married to go through pre-marriage counseling and that gave us the opportunity up front to have some major discussions that we might not have had until it came up as an issue. I also happen to have a husband who has incredible communication skills. And a strong desire to work on small things before they become big things! And I've learned so much from our relationship. It also has reinforced my thoughts that marrying your best friend has some major advantages! We went into our dating relationship knowing so much about each other and yet we regularly learn new things! It's awesome.
