The first is a lesson that I learned the hard way more than once. I am by nature a person who wants to see the best in people. As a result, I find it very difficult to let people go, even when I know in my heart it is best for me. I had to leave a friend behind who I just knew would stand beside me on the day I got married, be Godmother to my children and one day we'd be little old ladies side by side on rocking chairs watching our grandchildren play. Today she is a memory in my heart. Good times never forgotten, bad times forgiven.
For the second one, we so often pray that something or someone around us changes. If we feel that our situation needs to be changed we pray for that change. Sometimes, we need to first change how we look at the situation. So while yes, the situation is just bad, sometimes a change of view is what we need to endure until the change that we're looking for happens, or in case the change doesn't come. There are times when we need to stay sane while waiting for a change.
