Day 7: My Dream Job

In all honesty, I'm already living part one of what I consider my dream job. And hopefully in a few years we'll add to our family and part two will be in effect! I've always wanted to be stay at home mom. However I have two dream jobs outside of the home:
1. I've always wanted to be a serious journalist. Like Lisa Ling (whom I've loved along with Anderson Cooper since their days at Channel 1) I'd like to do stories that are important and fact based. I'd love to report on important things happening in the world. It frustrates me to no end that so many of what used to be reputable news shows are now peppered with some news but the big stories revolve around the extremely personal life issues of "celebrities" and famous people. Don't get me wrong, I am not totally against shows like Extra or TMZ. I realize they are entertaining and they make lots of money for lots of people. I am however totally against shows like Nightline or 60 minutes spending their air time for example - on a certain pending divorce whose proceedings have lasted longer than the actual marriage. I am also deeply disturbed by the amount of blatant bias in our news media. "Facts" have been replaced with personal opinion based on factual information. And some of the legal based shows like Nancy Grace make it extremely difficult for people to obtain a fair trial after being throughout tried in the court of public opinion.
2. Elementary Teacher. Now this is one that I will actually be doing! I plan on going back to school this year! I've always wanted to be a teacher since I was young and I think the teachers in the early years really do help set the foundation for a lifetime of learning! I have found the school and I can't wait to get started!

    1. Our America is such a good show! My only wish is that it was on a different network so more people would watch it!

  2. When I was young I wanted to be an elementary school teacher!

As for your journalism piece, I 100% agree with you. Like, verbatim. You go girl!
