Weekend round up!

I didn't finish the challenge... I was doing pretty good and then my mom called me and said - hey, since Husband is going out of town this weekend, why don't you come to AZ with me? Now who am I to say no when my mother dangles a plane ticket in front of me... (yay airline bennies!) The chance to see my family and enjoy some delicious Mexican food! Couldn't say no :-) So I packed up on Thursday and flew to Phoenix! I must say the minute the sun hit my face I was in heaven!  There is nothing like 80 degrees and sunny to lift the Winter blues! If I had had the opportunity I'd have slathered on some sunblock and laid out for an hour each day! But that wasn't in the cards! First night there - We picked up our rental car and headed to the bowling alley to see my dad! - He makes "spending money" bowling in his league! Growing up we used to spend hours at the bowling alley on our weekends with him! Once we kids got tired of bowling w/bumpers, our parents would give us cash and we'd hit the arcade! I'm not the best bowler but to this day I really do enjoy it! Anyways, after that we stopped at Filibertos Mexican restaurant. Delicious! Scrumptious! AMAZING! (Can you tell I enjoyed it?) Being on the East Coast really good Mexican food is hard to come by. There is a lot of  Tex-Mex and it often costs much more than it's worth! So to go to my hometown and get some MEXICAN food is so great! Next day, my uncle went to a Mexican market and got some Carne Asada - Marinated meat just ready to go on the grill! He grilled it up, Auntie made some tortillas and it was ON! Yummy Yummy Yummy! I was out with Uncle at the grill so I got to sample the meat fresh off the grill - oh so delicious! It was so good in fact, my mom placed an order to have some frozen to take home with her! As we were leaving, the TSA agents checking the bag all wanted to see what was in the bag that smelled so good! And on Saturday,we went to the Bass Pro Shop Restaurant called Fish Company (I think...) Anyways I never knew they had a restaurant. We were celebrating my youngest uncles 49th bday. And to celebrate - we started off with fried alligator appetizers! (yummy)  Go Here  To see my review. We also went shopping! My mom and one of her older sisters really really enjoy shopping, but only if its a good sale. (no such thing as paying full retail price to these ladies!) So we hit up the mall - and we cleaned up! I don't generally shop at JCPenny but they had a great sale going on and I couldn't resist. I came away with 6 tops, 3 tanks and a pair of capris. All for about $52! Now 3 of the tops are the same, one in red, white and black! They fit really well and I couldn't help myself! And at those prices... Well - you just couldn't beat em. We also visited the Target clearance racks for workout clothes! And starting at $2.98 - again can't beat those prices! Anyways we had a great time!
And I can't talk about this weekend without talking about my family. I am beyond blessed. I have a really big family. Mom has 7 brothers and sisters and dad has 9! I have the best aunts and uncles ever! Cousins for days and now, 2nd cousins! Kids I haven't seen in years and it's amazing how quickly they grow up isn't it? I used to HATE it when adults I hadn't seen in years would look at me in amazement at how I'd grown and now I do the same. I really think for me it reminds me to be present in the moment because you can't get that time back.
Anyways - My weekend was amazing I hope yours was also!
