Weekend Roundup!

This weekend Fall made an appearance! It was a beautiful weather weekend. Perfect for enjoying the great outdoors! And it was also my 32nd birthday! Saturday we had lunch with friends at Hill Country BBQ DC It's easily my favorite BBQ place in the area. Famous Dave's is good, but this place is amazing. It's the closest to southern BBQ we've found. And of course being a TX BBQ spot, they serve from Texas -Blue Bell ice cream!! We then hung out with my Bestie Melanie and her family. She and her husband have the most adorable little boy. He's 4 and super smart. We walked over to Macy's and Hubby and I went upstairs to look at shoes, he grabbed his mom and said "where are they going, are they coming back?" She told him yes and when we met back up, he shouted -"there's my family!" and ran to us. He is adorable. We went back to their place to watch the fight. It was so great to spend time with them. I am really searching for a place closer to them. I love our apt but it's not close to any of our friends and we're a 30 min drive from the Metro into DC. So we'd like to get closer!! And then on Sunday (the actual bday), we slept in, had Sonic for breakfast (no cooking at all for me this weekend!!) We relaxed and enjoyed a beautiful day of FOOTBALL!!! I am in 2 fantasy leagues this year so I am slightly more interested in watching the games. And This Article is the most entertaining sports article I saw this weekend! A station in Orlando apologized for having to show the Jacksonville Jaguars game. And here is the first line of the article -"Many Jacksonville Jaguars fans told us this week how great their support is. But, their team is something south of terrible." Hilarious and terrible right? But it is what it is. If they suck, they suck!  I totally enjoyed the weekend. The best husband ever found a groupon for a 2 hour full body massage! So sometime in the near future I will be having my body turned into spaghetti!! That was my weekend. It was really great. I am possibly the richest person in the world. God has given us an amazing group of friends here - 3 years ago when we moved here, it was just the two of us. We had a few acquaintances from TSU who live in the area but not necessarily close friends. In the short time we've been here we have met people who have become family. These people are our village. And I love it! The Lord knows what we need and He provides in abundance! Life is good. The only thing I wish I had done this weekend - taken pictures!! Oh well maybe next time I'll remember!
Happy Monday!
